Backdoor Bonanza in Bandipora: MLA’s Handwritten HR Department Exposes System Rot

BANDIPORA, JULY 23:

In a shocking display of political favoritism masquerading as governance, an open letter from a sitting MLA has surfaced — not as a formal government order, but as a handwritten VIP pass to public sector jobs in District Hospital Bandipora.

Dated June 18, 2025, the note penned by MLA Nizam Ud-Din Bhat, shamelessly recommends a list of handpicked individuals for “engagement/continuation on outsource” in the hospital. No advertisement. No interview. No selection process. Just ink, influence, and institutional rot.

The list reads like a family tea-party guest list, with names, parentage, and hometowns scrawled casually on official letterhead — proof that public offices are being run like private estates.

In a region where educated youth are drowning in joblessness, the casual manner in which employment is being gifted to “deserving” ones — all from selected localities — is a slap on the face of meritocracy.

This isn’t governance. This is auction. At a time when thousands await fair recruitment processes, this note stands as a bold symbol of backdoor appointments — where rules are bypassed, notifications are skipped, and talent is trampled under the feet of political sifarish.

No accountability. No transparency. Just handwritten power games.

Is this what we voted for — a system where hospitals become employment hubs for political favourites?

Where leaders draft job lists over tea instead of policies?

The people of Kashmir deserve better than being spectators to this open market of opportunities sold under the table.

Enough of silent acceptance. It’s time to call it what it is — systemic betrayal.
