SSP Baramulla Strengthens Community Bonds through Public Meeting at Gulmarg

In a major step towards bridging the gap between the police and the public, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Shri Gurinderpal Singh, held a crucial public interaction with the residents of Dariyan Dhokes at Gulmarg. The initiative was aimed at strengthening community ties and ensuring responsive policing in the tourist hub.
The meeting was attended by a large number of locals, including community elders, youth representatives, and stakeholders from different walks of life. The interaction provided an open forum for residents to voice their concerns, discuss pressing civic and security issues, and suggest practical solutions for improving coordination with the police and the civil administration.
During the session, citizens highlighted matters related to civic amenities, road connectivity, law and order, and tourism-related facilities. They also emphasized the need for better coordination between different government departments to address local grievances in a timely manner.
SSP Gurinderpal Singh patiently listened to all issues raised by the participants and assured them of swift and appropriate action on genuine demands. He emphasized the importance of public cooperation in maintaining law and order and said that community participation is a cornerstone of effective policing.
“Police-public partnership is essential for peace, prosperity, and tourism growth in Gulmarg. Our focus is to work hand-in-hand with the community to create a safe, secure, and development-oriented environment,” SSP Singh said.
He further urged locals to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in reporting suspicious activities to help maintain the region’s peaceful atmosphere, which is vital for Gulmarg’s tourism-driven economy.
The residents of Dariyan Dhokes appreciated the outreach program and hailed it as a positive step toward inclusive governance and responsive policing. Many participants expressed satisfaction over the SSP’s assurance and hoped for timely redressal of their concerns.
The meeting concluded on a note of mutual understanding and a renewed commitment from both sides to work collectively for the betterment of Gulmarg and the larger Baramulla district.
