Illegal Mining Crackdown: 9 Tractors Seized in Ganderbal
Ganderbal, March 27: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining, on Friday seized nine tractors involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals in the district.
According to officials, the action was carried out in the jurisdiction of and , where the vehicles were found operating without valid authorization and in violation of prescribed norms.
The tractors were seized on the spot, and the matter was referred to the , which subsequently imposed fines under relevant legal provisions.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to curbing illegal mining activities and warned of strict action against violators. They also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in safeguarding natural resources and reporting any such unlawful practices.
