PHYSICS WALLAH FACULTY BOOKED FOR OFF-ROADING IN ECO-SENSITIVE ZONE OF TANGMARG
Public TV Exclusive | Nature Crushed Under Tyres in Buderkoot
In a disturbing case of environmental recklessness, faculty members from the renowned education brand Physics Wallah have been booked for illegal off-roading inside the ecologically fragile Buderkoot forest area of Tangmarg.
An FIR has been officially lodged by the Forest Department Tangmarg, led by DFO Feroz Chaket and his team, after videos surfaced online showing the faculty driving their vehicles through a prohibited forest zone.
The FIR copy accessed exclusively by Public TV confirms that the act violated multiple environmental and forest protection laws. The video, reportedly uploaded by the faculty themselves, shows vehicles skidding through the soft soil, crushing newly sprouted vegetation and destroying tender forest buds that had begun to grow after the devastating windstorms earlier this year.
The Buderkoot area, one of Tangmarg’s most ecologically sensitive zones, had only just started to recover. Natural regeneration was visible everywhere, new plants, fresh roots, and forest cover trying to heal from months of damage. The reckless off-roading by the Physics Wallah faculty has now undone much of that progress.
Locals have strongly condemned the act, calling it a display of privilege and irresponsibility.
“When the forest was healing, these so-called educators came to destroy it for social media fame,” said one resident.
DFO Feroz Chaket confirmed that the department took immediate action after identifying the vehicles and individuals involved. “No one is above the law, whether a tourist or a teacher,” he stated. “This act has caused damage to a sensitive ecosystem, and strict legal measures are being taken.”
The incident has sparked outrage among environmentalists, who say this reflects a growing trend of visitors treating natural zones as personal playgrounds. They are demanding exemplary punishment and restoration work in the affected area.
When an institution like Physics Wallah, known for shaping young minds, becomes the subject of an FIR for destroying nature, it raises a serious question, what lessons are being imparted about responsibility and respect for the environment?
Buderkoot’s ecosystem may heal with time, but the marks left behind by this reckless act will remain as a reminder of how easily human carelessness can destroy what nature takes years to build.
